Enrollment Periods

When can you join a Medicare Advantage plan?

There are specific times when you can sign up for Medicare Advantage plans, or make changes to coverage you already have. You don't need to sign up for Medicare each year. However, each year you'll have a chance to review your coverage and change plans.

Initial Enrollment Periods

Your Initial Enrollment Period lasts for seven months—your birth month plus three before and three months after.

Annual Enrollment Periods

Except under special circumstances, you may only choose or change your Medicare Advantage plan or Part D plan each fall, during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period.
